The EZWire1616 is the first of its kind in the PLC market with integrated. field wiring ready I/O terminals. and provides every digital and analog I/O point with its own power (+24V or +5V) and 0V on a 3-level screwless terminal. Every sensor and actuator in the control system can be wired directly to the PLC without requiring additional screw terminal blocks and wire-harnesses.
This design saves systems integrators and machine OEMs valuable time. material cost. control panel space and dreaded wiring error recovery effort during installation.
The EZWire1616 uses TRi's topline SmartTILE-Fx CPU. It supports full floating point computation. non-volatile FRAM. flash file system. battery-backed RTC. Ethernet. RS232. RS485. digital I/Os. 12-bit ADC. 4-20mA DAC. PWM. Stepper controller as well as industry standard Modbus RTU & Modbus TCP protocols.
The EZWire1616 PLC eliminates one of the most labor-intensive operations in professional control panel wiring. which is the need to wire from the PLC's I/O points to a row of screw terminal blocks where control elements such as sensors. switches. actuactors and power device are connected to.
On the EZWire1616 PLC. every digital and analog I/O point is provided with its own power (+24V or +5V) and 0V on a 3-level screwlessquick-connect terminal (mouse-over the pictures to see the illustrations). The EZWire1616 PLC is a compact 3-board arrangement designed to take advantage of TRi's top of the line PLC features. Yet. it allows for sensible maintenance and easy replacement of any faulty sub-board when required. By separating the control and terminal boards. a failed control board can be easily replaced without touching any of the wiring to the terminal board. Occupying a footprint of just 4 1/2" x 8 1/8". this open-board PLC stands 1 1/2" tall. providing extra room in a standard control panel box for other components and lid-side devices (such as HMI) as well as installation and maintenance access.
Being a newer model introduced in late 2014. the EZWire1616 incorporates many leading edge and time-tested features of TRi's well-established Super PLC series. in particular. the high-end F-series PLCs. It is equipped with 32 Digital I/Os (16 in. 16 out) and 12 Analog I/Os (8 in. 4 out). with expandability of up to 128 D/I and 128 D/O. Outputs will also support up to 4x PWM and up to 3x Stepper Motor Control. Real-time clock and battery backup are all standard features on this PLC.
Serial communication is enabled through 2x RS232 and 1x RS485 ports supporting Native ASCII Host Link Commands. MODBUS RTU. MODBUS ASCII and OMRON C20 Hostlink Commands. Ethernet is built-in for direct connection to LAN or Internet for purpose of programming. monitoring and remote control. TRi PLCs also readily work in multi-brand control system environments because they support MODBUS/TCP Server and MODBUS/TCP Client.
