Introduction
Inverse Time vs current Curve Overcurrent Protection

Description
Three phase load currents are monitored by the three integral current transformers.
Earth fault signal out of CBCT is connected to separate input terminals.Load
current
greater than 5A requires external CTs. Any change in load current above the
preset
level is detected, red OL LED illuminates, indicating overload is detected.
Depending on overcurrent level, solid state circuity determines trip time,
and after elapse
of respective delay, internal SPDT relay switches contacts. Red OL LED remains
illuminated
indicating an overload trip has energized(Fail-safe). Overload trip time selection
is based
on 600% of the load currents on time vs current curve, and instantaneous overcurrent(SC)
protection can be selected between 500 and 2000% of Overload setting
with trip time of 0.03 seconds. Ground Fault current protection can be selected
between 50 to 500mA and trip time selection of 100ms to 1.0 second.
LED indications of red troubles, OC for Overcurrent, SC for Short Circuit,
and LP for Phase Loss,
and the green PL, for Power On, are provided. The actual load currents can
be determined
with the aid of OL LED. Simply adjust Load Knob anticlockwise until red OL
LED flickers.
The OL LED flashes at 100% of actual load current. Test button provides the
means of testing
serviceability and integrity of device. Din Rail(35mm) and surface mount combination.
Current range 0.5 to 6.5A. Requires core Balanced CT of 200mA/1.5mA. Use with
circuit Breaker
approved with rated interrupting capacity.

How to set up
1) Select Overload trip time at 600% of current scale OC Time Knob.
2) Set instantaneous Overload(SC) to desired % trip level.
3) Set Earth fault trip current and trip time at Time and Load Knobs.
4) With the control power on, depress TEST button, and hold. Verify the red
LED illuminates
and internal relay switches contacts, after the preset delay. Reset.
5) Periodic testing of TEST button is required to ensure full protection and
regularly as a
Preventive Maintenance.
